If auto top-off is enabled, additional credits are purchased automatically at your tier rate in small increments. If disabled, job execution and queries pause, but your data remains accessible for 30 days. Your credit balance can go negative for storage — you'll need to purchase credits to resume access.

Yes. Upgrading takes effect immediately — you receive the difference in credits prorated for the remainder of the billing cycle, and future top-offs use the new lower rate. Downgrading takes effect at the next billing cycle.

Credits reset each billing cycle and do not roll over. This keeps the model simple and the per-credit rates low. If you consistently have unused credits, consider a lower tier with auto top-off for overflow months.

Storage is sampled hourly and billed at the MB level — if you're storing 250 MB, you pay for 250 MB, not rounded up to 1 GB. This means small datasets cost proportionally less. Deleting data (or rolling back a load) immediately reduces your storage consumption.

The workspace owner is the billing entity. You can transfer ownership to another user who has an active credit subscription. The new owner's credits are used for all workspace activity going forward. This is useful when a team member leaves or billing responsibility shifts.

Small jobs use 1/16 DPU — suitable for typical file transformations up to ~100 MB. Large jobs use a full DPU — 16× the compute power for heavy transformations and multi-GB files. Large costs only 4× the credits per second, so you get 4× more compute per credit spent. If your job takes more than a few minutes on Small, Large will almost always finish faster and cost less overall.
